About

I like junk. I always have. Something about the history of an object that comes through in the rust and wear speaks to me. Some of my earliest sculptures were made with donated and found objects. My robots are made from things I find all around me. I’m always looking for shapes. I find them at garage sales, flea markets, and everywhere I go. As well as using found objects, I also like to fabricate parts. Years of working as a commercial sculptor and model maker really pay off when I can’t find just the right part I need. For example, some of my sculptures have taxidermy eyes. They’re easy to get, they look great, and they come in a lot of sizes and colors. But sometimes they’re just not right, so I’ll make the eyes from scratch. Whether the parts are new or old, I try to give my work a sense of age and history. I hope that comes through.
